DeMar Struggles in Spurs Debut

October 3, 2018

DeMar DeRozan, who we all know and love, played his first game as a Spur recently. Obviously, there were a lot of Raptors fans watching that game, because, like I said, we still love the guy.

My first impression of his performance was that he was tentative. I'm not sure if he was nervous with his new teammates or if it's just a more ball-movement-centric offence than he had in Toronto, but 6 shots in 18 minutes of play is not normal for DeMar DeRozan.

DeMar converted 3 of those 6 attempts from the field, finishing with 7 points, 2 boards, and 2 assists. So, not a bad performance, but not quite what we'd expect from our All-Star.

With that being said, I'm looking forward to continuing to watch him grow with this unit, as I'm sure all Raptors fan are, and for now, will put this performance down to first-game-back jitters. Also, pre-season.
