The other day, Serge Ibaka had his former teammate, DeMar DeRozan, on his cooking show, "How Hungry are you?". On the show, DeMar and Serge made a bet, a slightly lopsided bet, if you ask me; DeMar boldly declared that he would drop 50 points on the Raptors in the first matchup between his new team, the San Antonio Spurs, and his former team, the Toronto Raptors. Serge shot back, saying he would block everything that came his way. The eventual bet, while still slightly unclear to me, seems to be this: if DeMar scores 50, (unlikely) Serge donates an unspecified amount of money to the charity of DeMar's choice, and if he doesn't, he donates to the charity of Ibaka's choice.
Now, first and foremost, I want to make absolutely clear how admirable of a bet this is on both sides, seeing as neither needs any money from the other, and donating the money to charity just shows how good of guys these two are. That being said, I am already 99% sure who the winner of this bet will be, as should most of you. If DeMar DeRozan scores 50 points on a defense consisting of Serge Ibaka, OG Anunoby, Pascal Siakam, and KAWHI LEONARD, he's much, much better than I thought, because I honestly can't see even starts such as Kevin Durant or Lebron James. Yeah, I said it. Those two guys can't be fully shut down, but they sure as hell won't be scoring any more than 30 or so on that lineup anytime soon. Mark my words.
Winner: Serge Ibaka.
